This Week in Physics (April 12-16)

 In Physics

Dear Parents and students,

This week we begin our Circuit Project.  The students will design and build a multi-circuit device that embodies many of the concepts they have been learning.  There is a prize for the best design!  I wonder what it will be?

Here is our class schedule for the week:

Monday
Practice ONLY: 17.3  Series Circuits
Circuits Project Day 1 (you may have a partner- 2 ONLY)Design a machine or small device that uses a combination of parallel and series circuits, a motor, a light, and a capacitor or resistor of some type.  Create a blueprint for the device.  Explain how and what it does.  Bring in supplies tomorrow to build your device.   Extra credit if you use or build a small circuit board.
(If you are home based you are welcome to use a circuit simulator to build this device instead of building it in class.  However it is recommended to build it for your sake.  This one is actually very practical.)
PRESENT NEXT MONDAY

Tuesday
Practice ONLY: 17.4  Parallel Circuits
Circuits Project Day 2 (you may have a partner- 2 ONLY)Design a machine or small device that uses a combination of parallel and series circuits, a motor, a light, and a capacitor or resistor of some type.  Create a blueprint for the device.  Explain how and what it does.  Bring in supplies tomorrow to build your device.  Extra credit if you use or build a small circuit board.
