This Week in Biology (Sep 7-10)

In Biology, Scholars Prep Science - 7th Grade

Dear Parents and students,

The songs of the students filled the classroom:  “Chloroplasts, chloroplasts, how do you work?”  It is always fun to see the creativity of the students and to see them shine.  This week we run through the Calvin Cycle.  No one seems to like it, but everyone remembers it.  It is the thing that Freshman nightmares are made of!  Who needs fun and games.  We have the Calvin Cycle!  Actually it’s not really that scary!

Here is our class schedule for next week:

NONE

2.21 Photosynthesis
2.22 Calvin Cycle
Calvin_Cycle worksheet

2.23 Photosynthesis Summary
Finish Calvin Cycle Worksheet

2.24 Chemosynthesis

2.25 Aerobic vs Anaerobic Respiration
2.26 Cellular Respiration
Respiration Project
Which form of respiration is the most effective at energizing a life form: aerobic vs anaerobic respiration? Create an experiment that will demonstrate which method is most effective. Make sure to follow the scientific method. This is hypothetical. You will not perform this experiment.
