Dear Parents and students,

We will have our first dissection this week: a grasshopper.  Some students are excited.  Others are terrified!

Monday

Notes and Practice: 11.3  Invertebrate Classification
Project:
Workbook 18.1

Tuesday
11.4  Sponges
Notes and Practice: 11.5  Cnidarians
Project:Workbook 18.3

Wednesday
PRACTICE ONLY: 11.10  Arthropods
Project:Crayfish Dissection
As you dissect the crayfish, first look at how the organs are arranged.  Next,  cut out each organ and place it on paper in its proper place and label it.

Thursday
Notes and Practice: 11.11  Insects
11.12  Echinoderms
11.13  Invertebrate Chordates
Grasshopper preparation
Please review the parts of a grasshopper in preparation for tomorrows lab.

Friday
Project:Grasshopper dissection Lab
As you dissect the grasshopper, first look at how the organs are arranged.  Next,  cut out each organ and place it on paper in its proper place and label it.  This is very difficult with a grasshopper!
