This Week in Biology (Feb 28- March 4)

Dear Parents and students,

Viruses are definitely a topic of great concern these past few years.  The students will research viruses and current scientific studies and cures this week.  It is important that the students know how to access legitimate scientific sources for information on health issues.

Read: 7.12 Virus Origin
Read: 7.13 Virus Replication
Notes and Practice: 7.14 Viral Disease
Project: Research a viral disease. Illustrate the virus that is responsible for this disease. Explain how the disease is transmitted, what the symptoms are, and how it is treated.

Wednesday
Read: 7.15 HIV
Read: 7.16 Virus Control
Notes and Practice: 7.17 Viruses in Research
Life cycle of HIV worksheet​

Thursday

Create a study journal on current HIV research and cures. What breakthroughs have been made in preventing and curing HIV?
400 words including references.

Friday
UNIT 7 Group Practice Test​
