We just finished our study of viruses.  We are now moving on to study protists, fungi, molds and other protozoa.  Don’t you just love slime mold?  The students will be presenting their PROTIST Projects next Friday.  They have a lot of work to do while they research these amazing creatures.

PROTIST PROJECT PRESENTATIONS

PROTIST PROJECT Instructions:
For this project, you will select 12 species of protists (3 protozoa, 3 algae, 3 molds and 3 fungi).
Choose ONE of the following formats for your project:
Slideshow presentation: 20 SLIDES MINIMUM

Booklet: 13 PAGES MINIMUM

For each species, provide the following:
The scientific name

A diagram showing accurate colors of the organism with all its parts labeled

A paragraph about the organism including at least 3 interesting facts

An explanation of how the organism reproduces

How each organism is either beneficial or harmful to humans

An illustration and explanation of the usual habitat or environment where each organism may be found

Just as a reminder, students cannot make up labs if they are absent, but they can take detailed notes and complete the practice sets for full credit.
