This Week in Biology (April 19-23)

 In Biology, Scholars Prep Science - 7th Grade

Dear Parents and students,

It is finally time to start dissections!  We will have 3 dissections this week:  crayfish, grasshopper and shark.  If your student is homebased you are welcome to have them attend on those days.

Notes and Practice: 11.3  Invertebrate Classification

Tuesday
11.4  Sponges
Notes and Practice: 11.5  Cnidarians
Project:Workbook 18.3

Wednesday
PRACTICE ONLY: 11.10  Arthropods
Project:Crayfish Dissection
As you dissect the crayfish, first look at how the organs are arranged.  Next,  cut out each organ and place it on paper in its proper place and label it.

Thursday
Notes and Practice: 11.11  Insects
11.12  Echinoderms
11.13  Invertebrate Chordates
Project:Grasshopper dissection Lab
As you dissect the grasshopper, first look at how the organs are arranged.  Next,  cut out each organ and place it on paper in its proper place and label it.  This is very difficult with a grasshopper!

Friday
​Shark Dissection (ALL CLASS)As you dissect the shark, first look at how the organs are arranged.  Next,  cut out each organ and place it on paper in its proper place and label it.
